Addressing State House correspondents after submitting the report to the President, the Chairman of the ICPC, Musa Adamu Aliyu, said the commission discovered that Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew was never appointed by the Presidency.
Following the controversy that trailed the phantom council, President Tinubu, on July 7, directed the ICPC to investigate the matter and submit its report within 30 days.
The ICPC chair said, based on the findings contained in the interim report, “We have discovered and it has been established that Adeyemi Matthew was never appointed by the federal government or any authority of government.”
He said the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council “was never established by any law or executive order or other instrument of government, and the appointment letter presented by Adeyemi Matthew was completely forged alongside similar documents used to perpetuate the illegal activities of the fake agency.”
