……..Graduates 54 Students with Excellence Performance

Grandmates Schools, Okota, Lagos, has celebrated its 2026 graduating students with a colourful valedictory ceremony, rewarding outstanding academic performances while urging students to embrace hard work, discipline and good character as they advance to the next stage of their lives.
The ceremony, held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Zion Hall, Isolo, Lagos, brought together students, parents and guardians, members of the school’s Board, Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) executives, teachers, management and other guests.
Speaking at the valedictory ceremony, the Principal of the school ,Mrs Ijeoma Toluwase congratulated the graduating students and described their graduation as the beginning of a new phase filled with opportunities, responsibilities and challenges.
She charged the students to remain focused, set clear goals and work consistently towards achieving their dreams, stressing that genuine success requires preparation, discipline, perseverance and sacrifice.
Mrs Toluwase Ijeoma further urged the students to embrace lifelong learning, noting that the acquisition of academic certificates should not mark the end of their quest for knowledge.
According to the Principal, combining formal education with practical skills could equip young people to become problem-solvers, create opportunities and contribute meaningfully to society.
The students were also reminded that failure and setbacks should not discourage them, but should serve as opportunities to learn, improve and try again.
On character, the Principal stressed that integrity, honesty, humility, responsibility, respect and compassion were essential qualities for anyone aspiring to succeed in life.
The graduates were therefore encouraged to uphold the values they acquired at Grandmates Schools and remain good ambassadors of the institution wherever they found themselves.

The ceremony also featured the presentation of prizes and awards to students and teachers who distinguished themselves through academic excellence, good conduct, punctuality, neatness and dedication.
Odinaka Ogidi and Rhema Ugbo, winners of the Ose Brain Quest Periodic Table Quiz, received awards and a cash prize of N35,000.
Dibie Christabel was also honoured with a N100,000 cash award from Purvey Limited after emerging as the student with the highest IQ.
The PTA Chairman,Comrade Uche Ohaji, recognised outstanding teachers and students for their exceptional contributions and performances.
Miss Ataiku Helen and Mr. Egonu Alex were honoured as the Most Outstanding Teachers in recognition of their dedication to teaching and the development of the students.
Among the students recognised with special PTA cash awards were Ugochukwu Mirabel, who emerged as the Best Graduating Student (Female);
Amobi Great, who was named Best Graduating Student (Male) and the male student with the highest JAMB score; and Blessing Obiozor, who recorded the highest JAMB score among the female students.
The awards presentation generated excitement as parents, teachers and fellow students applauded the recipients for their achievements.
The Director of Grandmates Schools, Mr. O.O. Adepoju, congratulated the graduating students and urged them to remain disciplined, focused and committed to their studies.
Adepoju encouraged the students to make responsible decisions and continue to uphold the values instilled in them during their years at Grandmates Schools.
He also appreciated parents and guardians for their sacrifices and unwavering support, while commending teachers and members of staff for their dedication to educating and mentoring the students.
The Director expressed confidence that the graduates would excel in their chosen fields and become responsible citizens who would contribute positively to their families, communities and Nigeria.
The ceremony featured several activities, including Bible reading, prayers, a word of exhortation, drama presentation and cultural dance performances.
A major highlight was the special dance presentation by the SS3 students alongside their parents, which created an atmosphere of excitement and celebration.
The ceremony ended with words of encouragement and prayers for the graduating students, who were urged to dream boldly, work diligently, continue learning and never compromise their values.
The event ultimately underscored Grandmates Schools’ commitment to combining academic excellence with character development and preparing its students for responsible and successful futures.
News reports that 64 students progressed from Junior Secondary School (JSS3) to Senior Secondary School (SS1), while 54 students graduated from the school.
