According to reports, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has assured residents that the state will not be drawn into another political crisis, emphasizing that his administration relies on spiritual guidance rather than force.

The governor made the remarks in his New Year message following a crossover service at the Government House Chapel of Everlasting Grace in Port Harcourt.

Fubara expressed optimism that 2026 would bring prosperity to Rivers State, noting that his government enters the new year with “renewed strength and confidence.” Reflecting on the past two years of his administration, he acknowledged challenges but remained hopeful about the future.

“Those who place their trust in God would not be put to shame,” he said, highlighting that faith, rather than conflict, guides his leadership.

The governor urged citizens to stay calm and disregard reports of potential political unrest, reiterating that his administration is committed to the state’s development. He described his governance as being “anchored on faith, perseverance, and service to the people.”

While admitting that not all goals had been achieved over the past two years, Fubara assured residents that 2026 would usher in growth and transformation. He also expressed confidence in Nigeria’s national leadership, predicting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would secure victory in the 2027 presidential election.
