The Executive Assistant to the Oyo State Governor on Security Coordination, Hon. Kabiru Salami, has resigned his appointment with immediate effect.
Salami conveyed his decision in a letter obtained by NewsBreakNaija, dated October 20, 2026, addressed to Governor Seyi Makinde through the Chief of Staff at the Office of the Governor in Ibadan.
In the letter titled “Letter of Resignation,” Salami expressed gratitude to the governor for the confidence, trust and opportunity given to him to serve the state in the capacity.
He described his time in the administration as a rare honour and a humbling experience, noting that it had allowed him to work with others in contributing to the state’s security agenda and developmental strides.
“Despite my decision, I wish to sincerely appreciate Your Excellency for the confidence, trust, and privilege accorded me to serve our dear state in this capacity,” he stated.
The former aide further reaffirmed his respect for Governor Makinde, expressing appreciation for the opportunity to serve under his leadership.
He also reiterated his commitment to the peace, security and progress of Oyo State, while wishing the governor continued wisdom, strength and success in the service of the state and the nation.
As of the time of filing this report, no reason had been stated in the resignation letter for his decision to leave the appointment.
