The cultural bond between Africa and the Caribbean took a big step forward as the National Carnival Bands Association of Trinidad and Tobago, NCBA, met with His Excellency Jerrymon Samuel Manwe, High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Led by NCBA President David Lopez and the Executive, the meeting focused on strengthening ties through Carnival, mas, costume, music, dance, and cultural exhibitions.
Both sides explored new opportunities for collaboration in the creative industries, youth development, African heritage, and international Carnival exchanges.
The discussions were very fruitful,” NCBA noted. “We look forward to building meaningful partnerships that create opportunities for our artists, designers, musicians, cultural practitioners and young people, while taking Trinidad and Tobago Carnival further onto the global stage.”
The NCBA emphasized that Africa and the Caribbean share a powerful cultural connection rooted in history, rhythm, and resilience.
Together, we can celebrate, preserve and build on that connection,” the Association added.
