……*Doris Ogala’s public praise reflects a truth long confirmed by Abians on the ground*
Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has publicly described His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, as the best governor ever produced by Abia State.
This declaration is particularly striking given that Doris Ogala was once a vocal critic of the governor and had openly aligned with Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in opposing his leadership. Her recent statement, therefore, goes beyond mere opinion; it reads as a confessional acknowledgment shaped by direct experience.
Following a visit to Abia State, where she witnessed firsthand the scale and impact of ongoing developmental strides under Governor Alex Chioma Otti, her position changed decisively. Confronted by visible progress and tangible achievements, the truth left no room for denial. Her reversal stands as a powerful testimony to effective, people-centered governance. Indeed, in this year 2026, those who once spoke maliciously are increasingly being compelled to sing praises with their own mouths.
While Doris Ogala’s public praise has drawn attention, it is important to state clearly that Nigerians are not blind. Long before her endorsement, the people already knew. Governor Otti’s outstanding performance did not begin with her commendation, nor does it depend on it. His achievements speak boldly, consistently, and independently.
It is this visible performance that has elevated his reputation beyond the borders of Abia State. When indigenes of other states begin to campaign unsolicited for a leader who is not their own, it transcends politics, it becomes testimony. Today, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti stands as one of the very few governors in Nigeria whose leadership has earned such widespread admiration that citizens of other states openly express a desire to have him as their own governor. Such consensus is not manufactured; it is earned.
To many Nigerians, Governor Otti is not only the best governor Abia State has ever produced, but the best-performing governor in Nigeria at present.
This clarification is deliberate. It serves as a reminder that in politics, some individuals, regardless of their status as public figures can be influenced or compromised to promote narratives that are neither sincere nor truthful. Wisdom and discernment are therefore essential, and citizens must resist the temptation to accept every narrative simply because it comes from a celebrity or a popular voice.
The most credible account of governance is often found among the people on the streets, the ordinary citizens who live daily with the realities of leadership. In matters concerning Abia State, the truest story is best told by Abians themselves, who directly experience the impact of policies, projects, and purposeful governance.
