The joint security force in Kwara has warned all farmers to avoid going to farm especially in the high risk places until the security situation is resolved.
They warned other farmers in the state under no circumstances should anyone go to the farm alone. hence, they should go in groups and coordinate with local vigilantes.
Kwara South is one of the state’s major food and cash crop producing zones, especially cashew. The sad thing is it’s Cashew season and farmers who have worked tirelessly for a year tending to their plantations can’t even go to harvest.
This is indeed sad and seriously concerning.
How can you work for a whole year and when it gets to harvest season you’re locked out of your farm.
I don’t even want to imagine what those farmers are going through.
