A foundation owned by a successful philanthropist and businesswoman, Engr. (Dr.) Funmi Ayinke Waheed has donated 6,500 notebooks to school children in Arigidi, Akoko North West area of Ondo state.
The event which was well attended by various groups across the four local governments in Akoko also had traditional rulers and Government officials in presence.
The event was done in partnership with ‘The Queen of Nigeria Football’.
Represented by her mother, Funmi Ayinke stressed the importance of mothers in the society and the reason why a female child must be trained the same way a male child is trained.
She urged the school children to focus on their studies and make their parents proud while also contributing to the sustainability of humanitarianism in the society.
The National Admins of The Queen of Nigeria Football speaking to the student representatives at the event urged them to be serious with their studies so they can be able to give back to the society too in the nearest future.
The Zaki of Arigidi, Oba Yisa Olanipekun who led some of his Chiefs to the venue appreciated the gesture and noted that with more of Funmi Ayinke there will be a turn around for good in our society.
Also at the event was the representative of the Chairman of Akoko North West Local Government, Elder Ayodele Akande, representatives of Akoko Youth Forum, Forum of Head Teachers among others.
