Three patients have died of coronavirus-related complications in Borno State, The PUNCH reports.
The state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr. Salisu Kwaya-Bura, who disclosed this, also confirmed that 11 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the state.
He said, “The three deaths are not contacts of the index case from Pulka or the case from Biu, they are from different sources.”
He raised the alarm that “there is community transmission of COVID-19 in Borno”, warning residents of the state to be careful and keep safe.
The PUNCH reports that Borno recorded its first fatality on April 19, 2020, while another death was confirmed on April 22, 2020.
