CORONAVIRUS: PANIC IN GUSAU AS KANO RETURNEE DIES IN ZAMFARA

There was fear in Gusau town, Zamfara State on Sunday, following the death of a patient who fell sick immediately he returned from Kano.

The unidentified person reportedly went to Kano to visit his ailing brother and immediately he returned to Gusau, he too fell sick and was rushed to the Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital where he gave up the ghost.

His body was taken to Gada Biyu Cemetery in Gusau town where only health workers took part in the burial.

Chairman,  Zamfara State Health Services Management Board, Alhaji Mustafa Anka told our correspondent in Gusau that the blood sample of the deceased had been sent to the National Council for Disease Control for cross examination to ascertain the sickness that led to his death.

He stated also that the committee for the Control and Prevention of  COVID 19 had since swung into action with a view to finding out those who had contact with the dead person in order to keep them in isolation for quarantine.
