NMA TELLS GOVERNORS: NOT YET TIME TO RELAX LOCKDOWN ORDER

The Nigerian Medical Association, NMA has raised an alarm that it was wrong for State Governors to relax the lockdown that most States adopted towards Coronavirus a few weeks back.

In a statement issued today and signed by the Association’s National President and Secretary General, Francis Faduyile and Olumuyiwa Odusote respectively, the Association raised eyebrows on Cross River Governor, Ayade claiming that using face mask means you don’t need social distancing.

They also begged the Governors, especially those ones that have decided to relax the lockdown because of religious reasons to do a rethink and ensure that gatherings are discouraged.

The NMA also pleaded with the police to continue to enforce the total lockdown order which they believe will further contain the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

Recall that Kogi, Katsina States have both decided that the lockdown in both states be relaxed today so that religious activities could take place this weekend.
