CORONAVIRUS: RIVERS GOVT SPEAKS ON THE STATE’S INDEX PATIENT

There are indications that the health condition of the index case of COVID-19 in Rivers State is improving and will soon be discharged.

Rivers State has only one case of coronavirus, a young woman identified as a model from Edo State, who was admitted for treatment on March 26, 2020 after she tested positive for the disease.

The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Princewill Chike, told Sunday PUNCH that the index case was recovering well and would soon be discharged.

“She (Rivers coronavirus index case) is doing excellently well and we have started her discharge protocol.
