The Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development in Kaduna State, Hafsat Baba, has warned quranic teachers against harbouring almajiri in the state.
The commissioner said anyone caught would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
She spoke in an interview on Kaduna based local radio – Nagarta Radio – monitored on Wednesday.
She said no fewer than 20,000 almajiri had been moved to their states of origin by the government.
She also announced that so far, the state government had distributed free food worth N500m during the lockdown.
She explained that the palliatives would reach the target population through their leadership.
