13 KIDS RESCUED FROM KIDNAPPERS’ DEN IN KWARA

The Kwara State Police Command on Friday rescued 13 children from a suspected

kidnappers’ den in llorin, the state capital.

The 13 children comprised four girls and nine boys and were recovered from a storey building in the Oko-Erin area of Ilorin metropolis.

It was gathered that residents of the community uncovered a camp where suspected kidnappers held some children hostage.

The camp was uncovered when a woman was searching for her child whom she sent on an errand and some residents in the area stormed the building.

They reportedly discovered 13 children who were already in captivity and immediately alerted the police.

A resident, Mr Yomi Adebayo, said the building had been in existence for a long time without any knowledge of the kind of business being conducted there.

“The children were aged between four and eight years. There were 13 of them,” he added.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident, adding that the command would commence investigation into the matter.
