The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Nasarawa State says it has apprehended a fake medical doctor over the death of a three-year-old girl, Hauwa.
The suspect, Mudansi Idris, was allegedly transfusing blood into Hauwa when a problem developed.
The girl was said to have died at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia, following complications from the transfusion.
Parading the suspect on Monday in Lafia, the state NSCDC Commandant, Mahmud Fari, said they arrested Idris after the girl’s father reported the incident to the body.
According to him, the suspect was arrested on January 31 along Sarki Power Street in Lafia, where he runs an unregistered pharmacy and has been practising for over two years.
Idris told journalists that he was a student of the Collage of Health Technology, Gboko, and confessed that he had successfully treated people but not complicated cases like that of the dead girl.
