20 MEN WHO WANT TO SUCCEED NASARAWA GOVERNOR AL MAKURA

They are politicians mainly of the APC and the PDP.  They are all angling for the highest post in their state,  that is the post of the Governor of Nasarawa State.  They want to succeed the incumbent,  Al MAKURA who,  up till now has not  shown his preferred candidate. We bring you the front runners among the aspirants.
Hon. Jaafaru  Ibrahim
He is a member of the House of Representatives representing NASARAWA  / Toto Federal Constituency in the House.  He is believed to be close to the  State Governor
Architect SHEHU Tukur
He is a major project consultant in the State and also believed to be very close to the governor.  He is from the Western zone.
Engineer Abdullahi Sule
He is the Managing Director of DANGOTE Sugar Company.  He is another associate of the Governor. If he is to come out,  he is surely to come out on the platform of APC
Labaran Maku
He has been a deputy governor,  Minister of Communications under Jonathan before he opted to go and contest for governorship seat.  He contested under APGA during the last dispensation.
Solomon  Ewuga
He had served as a deputy governor in 1999 before being nominated as minister.  Eventually he was given FCT Minister of State. He has attempted to be the governor twice and his zone is highly favoured to produce the next governor.
Aliyu Wadada
He has been a member of the House of Representatives for eight years before coming out to vie for the Senate seat in 2015. He recently decamped from PDP to APC.  He is believed to be close to the incumbent governor who warmly welcomed him to APC.
Silas  Agara
He is the incumbent Deputy Governor of the State.  He has been credited with giving the governor hundred percent loyalty so much  so that he hardly says anything without first clearing it with him.  He is also from the Northern zone and an APC loyalist.
Damishi Luka
He was Deputy Governor under Abdullahi Adams who is now a deputy governor. He is an erudite scholar but would need financial backing to pull off a successful campaign.
Philip Gyunka
He is the incumbent senator representing NASARAWA North in the Senate.  He is of the PDP and ambitious to rule the state
Onjeh Gewado
A retired University professor,  he has served the state in various capacities. During the last dispensation, he ventured to Contest for the governorship seat.
Yusuf Agabi
He was the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the last election where he lost to the incumbent governor.  He is also from the Northern  part of the state  which is yet to produce a governor.  He is angling for the ticket again.
Innocent Lagi
He was until recently the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of NASARAWA  State. He resigned and is believed to be aiming for the PDP ticket  to contest the governorship seat.
Patricia  Akwashiki
A former Senator  and also a former Minister,  she has been in the National Assembly for over eight years, she served as a Minister in the Communications Ministry in the last days of the Jonathan administration.  She wants to be the first female. Governor of the state.
David Umbugadu
He is the member representing NASARAWA Eggon Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.. He is a consummate politician and has a large followership in the state.
